Tourists rate Mazatlan with 8.9

The total budget of visitors amounts to 29 thousand pesos

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The Tres Islas Hotels Association presented to the media the result of tourist satisfaction surveys in the summer vacation period in which Mazatlan was rated 8.9.

The survey was applied to 500 tourists of national origin, all of legal age, in a period of one month.

The results showed that tourists who visit Mazatlan, on average, stay for 4.4 days in the port and that 84 percent of them stay in hotels, while 16 percent do so through vacation rentals.

Of those who stayed through vacation rentals, it was obtained that this type of tourists increased their stay by 20 percent, with an average stay of 6.6 days. However, their average spending was reduced by 20 percent, with a nightly cost of 1,518 pesos, that is, $ 75.

Of the total respondents, the most commonplace of origin was Mexico City, followed by Chihuahua, Nuevo León, Durango, Sinaloa, Coahuila, Sonora, Baja California, Jalisco, among others; Of them, 60 percent of them said they visited the destination on previous occasions.

The average total budget of tourists for their trip through Mazatlan was 29 thousand 810 pesos, that is, a thousand 483 dollars.

Of the things that tourists liked the most were the beaches, with 70 percent approval; the Malecon, with 64 percent; the food, 37 percent; the Aquarium, with 22 percent, and Isla de la Piedra, 17 percent; On the other hand, 9% of respondents said they were disgusted about prices, the friendliness of the Mazatlecos and the historical sites of the city.

Those who stayed at the hotel paid an average of 2 thousand 114 pesos per night and in total, counting the lodging and transportation, they spent 20 thousand 286 pesos, that is, thousand 009 dollars.

40 percent said Mazatlan “is neither cheap nor expensive,” and 94 percent concluded that rate is better than they expected.
