With an influx of almost 60 thousand people and an economic spill of approximately 15 million pesos, the people of Rosary celebrates with great devotion and faith one more year with the nine days of celebrations to the Virgin of the Rosary, which culminated this Sunday with the Traditional pilgrimage. The secretary of Tourism of the state government, Oscar Pérez Barros, and the mayor Dr. Manuel Antonio Pineda Domínguez, held a meeting at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary, where they were able to verify the influx of tourists and locals, being religious tourism an activity of utmost importance for this magical town, and this day the most important for international promotion as a destination.
The Tourism Department of this town hall, reported a total full in the hotel occupancy of the 182 rooms, from last Friday to Monday; so many of the pilgrims were housed in private homes that the Rosarenses themselves offered to visitors, while others moved to the municipality of Escuinapa or stayed in Mazatlan.
Owners of restaurants and street stalls, reported that they had a great economic outpouring, with the great arrival of parishioners from all over the republic, and thanks to the fact that some tour operators also chose them as food destinations for their passengers.
Municipal Civil Protection data, report that during the pilgrimage approximately 12 thousand people were counted, and even more than in other years, because pilgrimages from other municipalities and other states of the country were added.
Omar Copado Castellanos, Civil Protection coordinator, reported that there was excellent coordination and white balance, and only two people received medical attention; a minor due to heat stroke and a person due to an exposed fracture of the tibia and fibula, in addition to the report of 3 missing children, which in a matter of minutes were handed over to their parents.
