López Obrador arrived around 10:20 a.m. at the Torreón airport, then headed to the rally in Matamoros
Torreón, Coah.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador arrived at the Torreón airport to start a tour of rural hospitals of the IMSS of Coahuila and Chihuahua between today and Sunday.
“Welcome the messiah of Mexico!”, shouted a man who was next to about 50 people who from two hours before waited for the President in the air terminal.
Upon arrival, a woman presented a parakeet to the President, but did not accept it and asked him to take it every time he visited the entity on a work tour.
“Better every time I come, bring me the parakeet,” he said.
In the afternoon, López Obrador will meet with the community of the San Buenaventura Rural Hospital in Monclova.
Dozens of people received the President at the air terminal in Torreón ; some of them warned of the corruption that, they said, exists in the Municipality of Torreón under the responsibility of PAN Jorge Zermeño, who is accused of “raising taxes, not doing works and stealing money”, and in the state government headed by the PRI Miguel Riquelme, both politicians present at the reception to the President.
A woman asked what was being done to protect women from insecurity.
He replied that every morning he is attentive to what is happening in the country in that area: “they have every right to be protected, taken care of and we are doing it”.
One more complained that there is a federal agency more looting of 4Q in the pension fund and there is more corruption, but López Obrador stopped: “don’t tell me because it’s not like that.”
“We also have the commitment of water supply for the Lagoon,” he said.
“We will wait, first of all, the water,” he added about whether he would support the construction of the Metrobús in the area.
This Friday will be in the hospitals of Matamoros and San Buenaventura, Coahuila, and tomorrow in those of Allende and Guachochi, Chihuahua.
His tour will end on Sunday in the rural hospital of San Juanito, in the Municipality of Boycona, Chihuahua.
This is the continuation of its journey initiated in July by the 80 hospitals of this type that serve the population without insurance to know the situation of health services. To date, it has 60 routes and hopes to conclude in October.
López Obrador makes the tour accompanied by his Health Cabinet, such as Secretary Jorge Alcocer and the director of IMSS, Zoé Robledo.
