Sinaloa receives US authorities to review security advances

The visit served to publicize the security, economy and tourism advances that the State has achieved in a coordinated manner with authorities of the three government orders

The Counselor of the United States Embassy in Mexico, John S. Creamer and the interim administrator of the Administration for Drug Control (DEA), Uttam Dhillon, visited the state capital to meet with the governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel and the Secretary of Public Security of Sinaloa, Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo; They learned about the advances that have been made in terms of security .

During a meeting at the Command, Control, Communications, Computing, and Intelligence Center (C4i), in which military personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense and Secretariat of the Armed Navy of Mexico and the state cabinet, Governor Quirino, also participated Ordaz Coppel, welcomed the American personalities who gathered.

Ordaz Coppel said that an investment of more than 1,700 million pesos has been made in public security, which has benefited the economic and tourism sector of the entity, in addition to the importance of such results being manifested to request the elimination of the “Warning”, since Sinaloa has made significant progress to ensure the integrity of its visitors, national and international.

The Governor took the opportunity to request support from the US government with the training of police elements in order to dignify their work and, above all, increase the good results that benefit both nations, as well as for the infrastructure of the Penitentiary System.

In his participation, the Secretary of Public Security of Sinaloa, Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, detailed through a presentation the achievements that the corporations of the Federation, State and Municipality have achieved for the benefit of the population, which has been reflected in the national statistics, which place Sinaloa in the 26th position of the 32 states in regards to the incidence of crime.

Castañeda Camarillo stressed that this result has been thanks to the close coordination that has been achieved by the assurance of laboratories of different drugs, as well as the decrease in crimes of manslaughter and vehicle theft, among others.

For his part, Uttam Dhillon, interim administrator of the DEA, recognized the important work that state police and other authorities do every day to combat drug trafficking that affects the American population.

It is through these international efforts that the Ministry of Public Security, by the instruction of the State Governor, Quirino Ordaz Coppel, seeks to increase the climate of peace that everyone deserves.

The meeting was also attended by holders of different areas of State Government, as well as agents of the Administration for Drug Control, DEA for its acronym in English.
