The secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, agreed with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Luo Shugang, that tourism will be “key piece” to continue consolidating the strategic relationship between Mexico and China.

In this way, Torruco’s visit to China, established a joint work base, from which Mexico will continue to be positioned as the most attractive destination for Chinese tourism in Latin America, thus creating conditions for social development and for the benefit of the Mexican communities.

In a statement, the Ministry of Tourism ( Sectur ) said that this meeting discussed three core issues: air connectivity and more flights; visa for tourists; and the extension of the teaching of the Mandarin Chinese language, to meet the growing demand for tourist services.

He stressed that both officials reflected on the importance of analyzing new options for Mexican airlines in other large cities and close to large urban centers receiving tourism.

Likewise, they agreed on the usefulness of fostering greater approaches between sites of great attraction through twinning, in order to enhance cooperation and tourist flows in both directions.

Mexico and China have already strengthened their commercial and political ties, in order to promote the exchange of different activities and thereby boost the development of their economies.
