Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Before young students of the Polytechnic University of Sinaloa, the Secretary of Tourism Óscar Pérez Barros highlighted the advances in tourism infrastructure that have been taking place in Sinaloa during the administration of Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel.

When participating in the cycle of keynote lectures, I talk about Sinaloa and Tourism as part of the XV anniversary of UPSIN in Mazatlan, he said that when a government makes things happen, the best results are obtained, as is the case today in Sinaloa , a destination in which entrepreneurs and tour operators of airlines, tourist cruises, realize the change in the tourist offer, and invest with more confidence.

In these two years that go from the administration of Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel, things have happened, you have to recognize it, you have seen it with the Malecon, the Historic Center, what happens in Copala, on the Los Mochis-Topolobampo road, the Culiacán-Imalá highway and much more that is being done throughout the state

In the presence of more than 120 students, he added that the importance of tourism in the entity impacts at all socioeconomic levels, in any company related to tourism, today the activity with the highest growth in the state.

Likewise, he said that the vision of the governor, who is a person who understands very well the tourism issue, marked well what we had to do; something different and the tourist offer of Sinaloa had to be changed, which was achieved through Mazatlan, which is the jewel in the crown.

In addition, he talked about the detonating projects that will come to consolidate the image of Sinaloa and Mazatlan as is the case of the construction of the Central Park and the Aquarium that will be the largest in Latin America.

He announced that in the summer season 1,071,305 tourists were received in the different destinations, which represented 9.9% more than in 2018; During the first Semester 2018 (January to June) 2,061,915 tourists arrived in the State, which represents 16% more than in the same period last year, where 1,780,219 tourists were received, and in terms of tourist cruises 80 of them have arrived, causing an economic spill of over 18 million dollars.

For his part, the rector of the Upsin, Alfredo Román Messina, after expressing his satisfaction at having the Secretary of Tourism at the inauguration of the conference cycle, added that the University contributes to the effort to make southern Sinaloa one more place large, dignified and prosperous, in addition to building outside the walls, with people they have in universities abroad, and the presence of a student at NASA.

Currently, the University that started with 138 students in 2005, now adds 4 thousand students, plus 500 administrative, teaching, academic and diverse employees.

And we can presume that 74% of its graduates are linked to diverse companies
