Work is already underway to update the Master Plan, which grants and regulates building permits
Mazatlan, Sinaloa (Informational Reaction) .- Given the number of lawsuits for different subdivisions of Mazatlan, where they point out the excess and abuse of building permits, the Director of Municipal Planning, Jorge Estavillo Kelly said that work is being done to update the regulatory instrument and legal to grant permits.
“Work is being done with the schools in updating that instrument for the regularization of the projects and the new Municipal Master Plan that corresponds to the Implan,” he said.
He explained that this normative document dates from more than 10 years of its last update, so it is already working on those points that conflict with the complainants for the granting of permits, and thus avoid demands and accusations towards the competent authority.
“It is a regulation that has to be updated, it is from 2006, and it is necessary to remove those possible confusions; it is intended to be this year to put it to work,” he said.
He stressed that as a Planning Department, there is no function of seeing what kind of regulations to establish, but only to execute what is established and authorized by both technical and legal experts.
“We entered for the time to approve a project, which we must rely on to say and dictate what kind of land use corresponds to a particular land,” said Estavillo Kelly.
