Mazatlan.- As of Tuesday, the Municipal Palace is illuminated with national colors and shares with the Mazatlecos the pride of being Mexican. The ceremony was held on the esplanade of the Plazuela República and was headed by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.

Around 20:00 on Tuesday, he began the preamble of the National Holidays with the presentation of the Folkloric Ballet of the Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Arts, accompanied by the Mariachi Occidental de Mazatlan.

The dancers, directed by Carlos Javier Arcadia Ruiz, presented some dance paintings with live songs performed by the Mariachi, including “El Son de la Negra” and “El Gavilancillo”, which gave the night a very Mexican sense of belonging .

The decoration in national colors that illuminates the municipal Palace consists of about 20 ornaments, such as caudas, rehiletes, Angel of Independence, Shield with caudas and the words «Viva México» and «Independencia».

Accompanied by the president of the municipal DIF, Gabriela Peña Chico; The secretary of the City Council, José de Jesús Flores Segura, of aldermen and officials, Benítez Torres said that this 2019 marks 209 years of the country’s First Transformation: the Independence of Mexico.

He mentioned that he is proud that on September 15, he will have the opportunity to remember the heroes who gave us homeland, and that this time he will break the protocol in which the Mayor gives the Scream of Independence from the balcony of the Palace .

«Although it had been done for many years in Mazatlan, the President this September 15 will not scream up there, will get off with the people, will be confused with the people, which is what we owe, and we better get on the Plazuela República kiosk to give the Scream ».

The municipal president commented that in the esplanade of the square there will be a popular festival, with dancing horses, roosters, and motifs of Mexican tradition.

The night of the Grito of Independence, next Sunday, September 15, will be crowned with the presentation of Alicia Villarreal, a Mexican singer who has achieved solo successes such as «Te quedó grande la Yegua», «La que baje la guardia», «Besos y Copas» y «Yo sin tu amor», «El Príncipe», «Ladrón» y «Te aprovechas», con el grupo Límite.
