According to information from the lawyer, ‘El Chapo’ said the United States intends to take away billions of dollars

A lawyer for the defense of Mexican drug trafficker  Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán, reported on Wednesday that they are seeking, in addition to the repatriation of Guzmán Loera, that the money that the United States government wants to seize will also be returned.

The former leader of the Pacific cartel was sentenced on July 17 to life imprisonment plus an additional 30 years by a federal judge in New York who found him guilty of the 10 charges charged, including participation in a continuing criminal enterprise and charges of drug trafficking.

“El Chapo is not on the blocked list”

The declaration is given after the Senate promoted the creation of a  binational commission to negotiate the repatriation of confiscated property to the drug trafficker, as well as any other criminal who has been tried in the American Union.

On the possible repatriation to Mexico of the capo, now admitted to a maximum-security prison in Denver, Colorado, his judicial attorney Juan Pablo Badillo Soto indicated that the trial is not valid because it was not made available to the authorities that claimed it in San Diego but in New York “where it was never required.”

Court gives another setback to ‘El Chapo’ for extradition

According to Soto, extradition documents indicate that “if the accused is not made available to the authorities who claim him in the first 60 days, he will be released immediately.”

The defenders criticized the inhuman conditions in which Guzmán lives and threatened to reveal the names of senior government officials of former President Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018) who are “putting obstacles” in the process of repatriation of money and his client.

AMLO celebrates that El Chapo wants to allocate money to indigenous communities

Andrés Manuel López Obrador indicated that it is intended that everything that is confiscated in the United States from Mexican criminals be returned to the country.

President  Andrés Manuel López Obrador celebrated that  Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán wants to allocate his money to the indigenous communities of Mexico.

During his traditional morning press conference, the president said that  “I see it well, I celebrate it” the plan announced by the lawyers of the drug trafficker.

“I like the statement, so I say no if yes, I do not know if it is true, I can not verify it, but if it is as it came out in the media, that a lawyer expresses that his money (from” El Chapo “) is delivered to the indigenous communities of Mexico, I see it well, ”he said

He said that everything that is confiscated in the United States from  Mexican criminals is sought to be returned to the country, and that these resources are not seized and that those resources remain in the United States.

He added that no matter will stop litigating when it comes to money that may correspond to Mexicans, so “we will take all  legal action .”

On the issue of the shooting in El Paso, Texas, the president said he is awaiting the trial of the attacker, to punish “this hate crime” against Mexicans.

He explained that depending on the crimes for which they are charged, “we will ask for extradition ” of the shooter.

“No to hate crimes, not racism, not xenophobia,” he said.
