No attacks of poisonous arachnids
Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Every year, a considerable number of Sinaloan people are stung by scorpions, said Macondo Montoya Parra, head of the State Department of Vectors and Zoonoses.
However, no deaths have been registered for a couple of years, although last year, after Hurricane Willa, the death of a minor was recorded in Rosario.

“In the state of Sinaloa, 10,000 to 12,000 stings per scorpion occur annually. We have not had death in the last two years,” he said.
In this regard, he said that in the whole State there is enough fabotherapeutic, anti scorpion venom vaccine and that there are no localities that suffer from shortages.
Montoya Parra explained that the municipalities with the most records of scorpion attacks are Mazatlan, El Rosario, Escuinapa, Choix and Culiacán.
He added that in Sinaloa there are three types of poisonous scorpions and others that are not toxic.
On another type of animals of Ponzoña, the owner of Vectors and Zoonoses in the entity, said that there have been no recent attacks of arachnids and reiterated that there is enough antidote in all health jurisdictions to treat patients suffering from these bites.
