The airline, Viva Aerobus, under the command of Juan Carlos Zuazua, celebrates the opening of its 100th route with the next flight from Puerto Vallarta-Tijuana that will begin operations on December 13 with three flights a week.

Viva Aerobus maintains 118 routes: 100 national and 18 international and continues its growth connecting cities in the interior of the Mexican Republic.

The month of July was historic for the airline because for the first time it was positioned as the second with the largest number of domestic passengers.

“We are very excited because Viva Aerobus connects to two airports of the Pacific Airport Group (GAP): Puerto Vallarta Airport, one of the most important tourist destinations in the country; with Tijuana, a newly remodeled airport that facilitates the passage of the northern border through the Cross Border Xpress (CBX).

The region benefits from a boost to connectivity, tourism and local economic spillover, synonymous with growth and development for both destinations, ”said Raúl Revuelta, general director of GAP.

With this new route, Viva Aerobus strengthens its presence in these two cities. On the one hand, the airline already has 10 routes at the Tijuana International Airport, one of its five operational bases, and is positioned as the second airline that offers more destinations from this entity.

Even this year, it has launched four new routes in Tijuana. This leadership in the border city is supported by a significant increase in passenger preference, with Viva registering a 48 percent increase in its number of customers in the first six months of the year from/to this city.

The airline now has five routes from Puerto Vallarta, a town where it has also reported a 17 percent growth in total passengers in the first half of the year compared to 2018.

The expansion of the offer of Viva Aerobus has been a constant during 2019, resulting in 23 routes newly integrated into its portfolio so far this year. In two consecutive months, June and July, the airline registered more than one million customers.

“We not only celebrate a milestone for Viva Aerobus with our 100th national route, but also for the connectivity of the country for the direct benefit of all passengers. Guided by our vocation as ambassadors of Mexico, we have taken another step with the clear objective of offering the widest variety of national routes at unbeatable prices, ”said Juan Carlos Zuazua, general director of Viva Aerobus. (During the winter season, Viva Aerobús will open a new Morelia-Chicago route )
