Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- As soon as he got off the plane that brought him from Mexico City, Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres visited families of the 20 de Noviembre colony, one of the most affected colonies with the overflow of the Jabalines Stream, after the rains that caused Tropical Storm Ivo.

Around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Chemist toured the streets of the settlement, where he delivered mattresses, mats, pantries and backpacks with school supplies to families affected by the heavy downpours of “Ivo”.

During his visit, Benítez Torres mentioned that the Government of Mazatlan, where the waves are broken, the city of Carnival, is greatly affected by the situation that the inhabitants of this settlement are experiencing, as well as the Indeco Jacarandas, Villa Jaraco, Villa colonies Satellite, Lico Velarde and November 20.

“We are very sorry. Believe me that we are very concerned and that is why we come to greet you, God bless you. We are going to leave you some backpacks and we will be watching you, ”said the Chemist to the mother of four children, who also suffered damage at home.

DIF Mazatlan staff, headed by its director, Roberto Rodríguez Lizárraga, reported that in the Extension November 20, 109 homes were censored, and the first supports in this area were delivered, which consisted of 109 pantries, 60 mattresses, 14 mats and Several school bags.

In the tour, in which he was accompanied by area directors and staff of the Municipality, the Mayor observed that in some homes the water entered more than a meter high, which caused the total loss of household goods.
