They will suspend the service starting Friday, August 23. Here the list of the 623 affected colonies

Tijuana – In order to repair a leak that occurred in a section of the 54-inch Florido-Aguaje Aqueduct, the main of the potable water conduction system, the State Government headed by Francisco Vega de Lamadrid, informed that the State Commission of Tijuana Public Services (CESPT) will perform on Friday, August 23 , a suspension of service in 623 colonies of Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito for a period of 72 hours.

The Director of CESPT, Enrique Ruelas López informed that from 00:00 on Friday the water flow valves will be closed from the El Florido Water Treatment Plant, in order to be able to carry out the repair.

The recovery of the supply of drinking water is expected from Sunday night, so as of Monday, August 26, colonies that do not yet have service to provide attention will be monitored.

Ruelas López stressed that in order to prevent the leakage from growing and causing some collapse of the pipe which would extend the period of suspension of the service, it is necessary to carry out the repair immediately.

It is important to highlight that due to these works since Thursday, August 22, the El Refugio boulevard will be closed to traffic in both directions, so that citizens are asked to take precautions; taking advantage of the closure, work will be carried out on the driveline in the Sánchez Taboada neighborhood and in another section of the same aqueduct located in the Lomas de La Presa neighborhood, which also has a leak.

Citizens are recommended to store only water for their basic needs and once it returns, make moderate use to allow tank filling and system stabilization.
