Secretary of Energy, Rocío Nahle, said that president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and the governor of Tabasco, Adán Augusto López, are convenced that the projects of drilling and extraction of hydrocarbons, the new refinery and the recovery of hydroelectric plants are essential for the development of this state.

In a later interview that took place in CDMX, Adán Augusto López stressed that the extra investment that these projects will represent will be considered in next year’s energy sector budget, as announced by López Obrador.

That budget will include the new refinery, of which 75 billion pesos are to be allocated for drilling and exploration; 25 billion pesos the following year for rehabilitation and 55 billion pesos for the first stage of construction.

López emphasized that Mexico’s new government headed by Andrés Manuel López Obrador will make Tabasco the country’s energy capital.

AMLO said that the new refinery in that entity will definitely help the reactivation of Tabasco.
