In Mazatlan, few attend the program ‘Young People Building the Future’

Canaco and Coparmex do not know the reasons but ensure that companies have not approached enough young people

Mazatlan Sinaloa.- The federal program ‘Young People Building the Future’ has not had the desired impact on companies, as few have approached to look for this opportunity, recognized Mazatlan business leaders.

This program benefits young people without jobs and who are not studying with a scholarship. It is an opportunity for them to enter a company and thus learn to carry out activities within the labor market.

Jorge García Félix, president of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic in Mazatlan (Coparmex), questions why in the Employment Fairs there is a large influx of young people looking for an opportunity, but they do not go to this alternative.

“There is no answer that was expected, there are companies that have vacancies to welcome these young people and are not approached, maybe because it is the holiday season, or they do not want to enter a business yet,” he said.

The Camaral leader explained that in this project simple positions are offered as auxiliaries, assistants, and technicians, but more than that, using it is as a springboard for the user to train and then aspire to a higher position.

Meanwhile, the president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism in South Sinaloa (CANACO SERVyTUR), Jesús Sandoval Gaxiola, endorsed what García Félix said about the little impact of this program. He even said he doesn’t know how many companies have these fellows.

“I do not know if it is really working (…), the problem itself could not tell you what it is, if it is perhaps by young people or by companies, but we see that it has not worked,” he said.
