With the publication of the CFE in the DOF, the creation of the subsidiary CFE Telecommunications and Internet for All is formalized

The Federal Electricity Commission ( CFE ) published this Friday in the Official Gazette of the Federation ( DOF ) the agreement that creates the subsidiary CFE Telecommunications and Internet for All.

According to the document, the entity will have its own legal personality and assets, whose objective is to provide and provide non-profit telecommunications services to guarantee the right of access to information and communication technologies.

CFE Telecommunications and Internet for All will have its domicile in Mexico City, notwithstanding that for the development of its activities it may establish legal or conventional offices or domiciles in the national territory, in accordance with the detailed in the document.

On the other hand, it indicates that the subsidiary of the Commission must generate social value for the Mexican State as its owner and in accordance with the provisions of the Law.

It was last July when President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported the creation of the CFE subsidiary as the project for the national internet supply and under the promise that the 300,000 Mexican towns and communities would benefit from the provision of the service.
