The municipal DIF system detected two foreign girls who worked on public roads; They are already under the protection of the Attorney General’s Office: Rodríguez.

One of the children was from El Salvador, the other from the United States.

Mazatlan, Sin. – So far from the summer vacation period in Mazatlan, Dif System personnel have detected and removed from the streets per day, from 6 to 8 children working at the age of 6 to 12 years, Roberto Rodríguez Lizárraga reported.

The agency’s director said that in the reinforced operation to protect minors at risk for this holiday season, they have detected two cases of foreign girls who were working on public roads.

He explained that the adolescents, one from El Salvador and the other from the United States, both under 12 and the people who accompanied them did not prove to be family members. They had no physical damage or abuse.

He explained that the minors were placed under the Procurator’s Office of the Dif System in the “Mi Ángel del Camino” shelter, until they found their relatives and could be sent to their places of origin.

“The important thing is the awareness of the people who give them money, because if they don’t want to see children in the corners that don’t give them money and this would be the call to society because they are there because they have some way of living with what we give them. Children are exposed to put them to work, we must remember that there are many mentally ill people who want to harm them, ”he said.

Rodríguez Lizárraga said they are forced to work in the sale of flowers, chewing gum or ask for money, for their parents or family cases that take them to the tourist area, cruise ships, Olas Altas, Plazuela Machado and Historic Center, but every hour they are moving from place to avoid being detected by the staff of the Municipal DIF System.
