Tec and Hangzhou Dianzi University of China present collaborative spaces to create an ecosystem of exchange, innovation, and entrepreneurship
An impact in areas such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and robotics is what the Tec de Monterrey and Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU) seeks to generate with the launch of three laboratories.
Through the signing of a collaboration agreement, the objective is to develop products and patents with greater impact, both in China and in Mexico, explained authorities of both universities this July 9 at the Monterrey campus.
The new collaborative spaces are:
- Technological Transfer of Remote Laboratories (in operation).
- Binational Laboratory Embedded Microelectronic Systems (in the planning phase).
- Open Innovation Lab-Open Innovation Laboratory (in the planning phase).
Remote laboratories aim to carry out engineering education remotely and simultaneously.
“With this presentation, we remain focused on three main objectives”, said Arturo Molina, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology Transfer.
“The first, focused on the part of research and technological development, the second, on the issue of entrepreneurship and how to take our technology to China to undertake in that country.
“And (the third ) the academic, how we can improve and extend the collaboration of teachers and students.”
The initiative of the national laboratories will help to transform the technologies in the entire range of electronics, added César Vargas. research professor at the Tec Engineering School.
“This transformation needs solutions to store, process and compile our information, said the future manager of the Open Innovation Lab.
“We need to secure the laboratories in collaboration with HDU, where innovation and high-level research will be carried out through new security paradigms.”
“It is a very exciting moment that is going to be written in history here, we hope that in the future the relationship between the two schools can be further promoted,” shared Lyu Jinhai, vice president of HDU.
GO TO CHINA TO IMPLEMENT PROJECT
As beneficiaries of the alliance between Tec and HDU, René Alejandro Nucamendi and José Ángel Contreras, students of Mechatronics Engineering, will travel to the Asian university to assist Professor Manuel Macías in presenting the Technological Transfer of Remote Laboratories project.
This project is already being used in several Tec campuses in Mexico, but now they are looking to take it internationally with the help of technology and knowledge from Chinese experts, explained Macías.
“It is a project that aims to be able to have a presence in several laboratories in different parts of the world and be able to carry out the teaching of remote engineering simultaneously,” he said.
The presence of these emissaries of the Tec in China is intended to be the first of many that are in favor of advancing the science and technology of both countries, according to the North regional dean of the School of Engineering and Sciences, Joaquín Acevedo.
“The engineering of the Tec is impacting not only nationally but internationally, these projects advance, this alliance is very significant for the school, we believe that the presence in China can benefit our students of professional and postgraduate,” he said. Acevedo
