Mazatlan, Sinaloa .- Mazatlan seeks to increase its tourist offer and consolidate international tours through the implementation of tourist circuits that include the rural area and other nearby municipalities, said David González Torrentera, head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Fishing of Mazatlan.

“We want to make our rural area in Mazatlan, an attraction that helps us generate a diversification in tourism,” he said.

The municipal official revealed that last weekend held a rapprochement with the director of the Mixed Fund of Mexico City, who is responsible for managing the fund raised by the concept of Lodging Tax in that town.

From that meeting, he said, the initiative to contemplate international tours took place where La Perla del Pacífico is taken into account.

“We talked about doing dumbbells, in which we could start doing international tours in which people from Mexico City (who) are staying there for a few days and from there connect with us, to diversify the offer through our stately villages, from the rural area, “he explained.

González Torrentera explained that the aim is to create nine circuits in which the eight Mazatlán syndicates are included and that each one shows some quality that distinguishes such destinations.

He stressed that such qualities range from gastronomy, crafts, agave distillation, ecotourism, adventure tourism, fairs, among others.

“We can bring a tour that arrives in Mazatlan, that makes a stop in one of our communities and from there we can go to El Rosario, Escuinapa, Concordia … as long as that geographical route can be given,” he added.

The head of the Sedectur reported that two of these circuits are ready, which are the La Noria and El Quelite.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tourism of the State, Óscar Pérez Barros, said that he will attend a meeting where they will talk about a program that will be called “swept facades”, which will analyze what is the infrastructure that must be restored from the different Towns Mágicos and Pueblos Señoriales of the entity and celebrated that Sinaloa has been given priority in this program.
