Mazatlan, Sin. – The Mazatlan hotel industry recorded a hotel occupancy rate of 100% over the weekend, which generated a rebound in all the activities related to this sector; confirmed José Ramón Manguart Sánchez.
The president of the Association of Hotels Three Islands of Mazatlan, said that, according to reservations, this level will be held every weekend until the start of the school year.
He commented that it will be a good holiday season for the destination, especially during the month of July, since in August the influx decreases because people anticipate returning to school.
Manguart Sanchez pointed out that Mazatlan mostly receives national tourism that travels by road from the same state, as well as nearby entities such as Guadalajara, Zacatecas, Durango, Torreón, Chihuahua, Monterrey, and Mexico City.
He estimated that the current summer season will yield a general occupation for the tourist destination of between 87 and 88%, quantifiable in the demand of the lodging centers.
The hotel manager added that as has been done in previous years, this week will begin to apply the ninth summer study, to learn detailed information on tourism that travels to Mazatlan.
The study of a socioeconomic profile means by which the client has learned about the promotions, reservation forms, average stay, among other aspects of their behavior, preferences, and nonconformities.
He pointed out that security has not been a concern on the part of tourists in that study, however, for eight consecutive years, the complaint has been for timeshares, due to the discomfort caused by promoters who do not exercise such activity in a correct and harass tourists in places of entertainment.
