MAZATLÁN.- Mazatlan Aquarium records up to 3 thousand visits a day in this summer vacation period, informed Pablo Rojas Zepeda, Director of Mazatlan Aquarium.

He commented that the number of attendees who registered on weekends, is now being replicated from Monday to Friday, so he expects to exceed the goal of 90 thousand visitors in this month of greater affluence.

“We are doing well, with a presence of around 3,000 visitors per day (…) there is no longer much difference between a Saturday and Sunday with respect to a Monday, Tuesday. Right now the difference is some 500, 600 people, “he explained.

The visitors who have arrived at this tourist attraction are mainly from the northwest area of ​​the country, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Durango, Sonora, Baja California and the north and center of Sinaloa.

EXAMPLE IN CONSERVATION OF MARINE TURTLE

The results of the program “Protection and conservation of sea turtles”, which is carried out by the Mazatlan Aquarium, already has an international impact.

The next 18 and 19 July, the paramunicipal will participate as a speaker at the «Latinzoo, the Veterinary Expo ‘, in Mexico City.

The biologist Pablo Rojas Zepeda, director of the paramunicipal, said that this will be a meeting in which topics on animal care and welfare of zoos and aquariums will be put on the table.

“It is a very important Latin American Congress, and we have been honored with the invitation to give this conference on sea turtles since Mazatlan Aquarium has been highly recognized nationally and internationally for the efforts it is making to protect this species.” .

He added that this type of events also serves to update on laws and regulations.
