The students indicate that they are governed by a calendar of semesters, so even though they are officially vacations, they continue to go to classes and bus drivers have the discount card reader covered.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Students from the Polytechnic University of Sinaloa (UPSIN) complained to Qué Pasa in Mazatlan because the drivers of the Urban Bus Alliance and the Aguilas del Pacifico do not want to validate their discount as students. The bus rate, with the discount they pay $ 3.50 pesos and currently pay the normal ticket $ 9 pesos and $ 9.50 in units with air conditioning.

Added to this, there are students who have to go in the morning and evening hours, that is, they go from 7:00 in the morning until 2:00 in the afternoon to normal classes and they have to return in the afternoon of 3: 00 to 5:00 in the afternoon for their sports activities, so they spend to pay $ 14 pesos for four trucks, to pay $ 36 pesos for the same amount.

When requesting a discount, the drivers hide behind the fact that the school calendar currently marks vacations, which is why many of them have the smart card of the discount card hidden, or they do not bring the student tickets.

“As a family mother I urge a call to the bus alliance where the students’ discount to UPSIN students is respected, they do not have vacation periods.

“My daughter pays for four buses a day, why she has to go back in the afternoon to do the activities that the university demands. We request that the alliance support us respecting the discount, that it is possible for the student to present his / her university credential and that the drivers make it valid “, denounced Vanessa Mendoza.

At present, some dialogue tables have been held between students of UPSIN and personnel of the Bus Alliance, however, it has not been successful so far.
