  • It is necessary roadblocks that converge to Ocuilan

Ocuilan, Mexico, June 12, 2019. Given the indifference of the authorities for curbing the illegal and indiscriminate felling of trees, which has led to the disappearance of approximately 3 percent of the forest each year, more than three thousand people from different localities made a human chain throughout the municipality.

During the tour of the towns, the municipal president Felix Alberto Linares gave trees to be planted in what begins a reforestation throughout the length and breadth of the municipality,

Parents and students of the various educational centers received the trees, committing to plant it to reforest the forests, since Ocuilan occupies the unprofitable first place in forest fires in the Edomex, many of which are caused by logging, added Felix Alberto Linares.

He asked the federal government for roadblocks to be implemented on the roads that converge on Ocuilan, although he did not rule out the complicity of some police forces, since only in the Zempoala lagoons, more than 300 trees are cut daily.

In the National Park of Lagunas de Zempoala, more than 600 hectares of protected forest have been destroyed, said municipal president Felix Alberto Linares.

He regretted that Ocuilan occupies the unprofitable first place in forest fires in the Edomex, many of which are caused by logging; even illegal logging has reached such a degree that it is already classified as organized environmental crime, which is not a priority of this municipality, but of Edomex and the country, concluded the municipal president Felix Alberto Linares.
