Escuinapa.-  Two important hotel chains have had a rapprochement with the State and the Federation, to express their interest in the Integrally Planned Center, Playa Espíritu, a tourism project that according to the president of the republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will be auctioned.

During his visit on January 26 in the municipality of Rosario, López Obrador announced at a public event held at the Club de Leones that the CIP Playa Espíritu, located in the coastal area of Escuinapa, would be analyzed for auction and the resources acquired of this failed tourism project by the Federal Government would be assigned to the construction of the Santa María dam.

Javier Lizárraga Mercado, Secretary of Economy, commented that currently, the project of Playa Espíritu in Escuinapa is still waiting, with only a few resources for its maintenance and to remain in good condition in what is decided what will happen with this project.

The interested

“There is interest in particular of a chain, which is Méridien. They make parks, for example the one in Punta Cana, which is a very important place in the Dominican Republic. They like to be alone, so Playa Espíritu can be a good place for these investors, “said Secretary of Economy. He explained that Méridien are European investors who run all-inclusive hotels and seek a lot of peace in the areas where they are installed.

“There is another very large group that came with the president of the republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (January 26 to CIP, Playa Espíritu). They are real estate developers, of timeshares. The name of the investors cannot be announced because they have asked for it, but I can tell you that it is one of the largest investors in the country and internationally, and they have tourist developments in Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, “he said.

Lizárraga Mercado said that they are currently in the process of appraisals in the area, to give a value to the property, since an investment of 3 thousand 500 million pesos has been made.

“I was with the delegate of Fonatur, Eduardo Bazúa, and he tells me that the truth, they are getting very little resources just to keep it. There, what we have to do is, together with the Investment Attraction Center, see if we can bring a touristic tour to work on what decisions are made on the direction of this project, located in the south of Sinaloa, “said Lizárraga Mercado.
