Apply the Environmental Law for Sustainable Development of the State of Sinaloa, which marks the elimination of plastic products, such as bags and straws

Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – As part of a campaign to create awareness among society in the reduction of the use of plastics, the direction of Ecology and Environment of the City of Mazatlan thinks about the delivery of badges to businesses that apply the Environmental Law for Sustainable Development of the State of Sinaloa.

María de Lourdes Sanjuán Gallardo explained that although some businesses, such as some municipal market stalls José María Pino Suárez, began to inform their clients about the non-delivery of plastics or the reuse of them, there is still a lot of work to be done.

“Look at us what we have come up with and that is a matter that we have to talk very well with environmental education, is that, for example, restaurants that do not use disposable, do not use the straw and all that, give them a distinctive green”.

The official explained that within the next few days they will begin training on the issue of laws to begin applying them in a municipal manner and that there will be a preliminary draft before the end of the year with a first action of recommendations at the commercial level before day zero, in which from that moment the delivery of plastic bags is prohibited.

In addition to this, it is necessary for the citizens themselves to internalize and become aware that the environment is already demanding the use of ecologically friendly materials, as well as recycling since there is a resistance to comfort that means having a bag to throw the garbage. , he said.

“There are many people who look for these establishments pet fiendly, that are friendly with animals, that are sustainable, that are friendly with the environment, I believe that from Ecology we can encourage with this distinction”.

He added that there are more and more businesses or businesses that are friendly with both animals and nature, hence the one that has a badge for people to identify that there the materials used to serve food or to package purchases are completely reusable.
