Against this background, Grupo Modelo launched a program to promote actions related to water care and the conservation of Mexican beaches, as part of a day of activities for World Environment Day, which was held on June 5.

The program will consist of activities that began on June 1 and will end on the 15th of the same month, to restore and conserve water, as well as to clean 150 kilometers of beaches in 14 states of the country, explained Marcela Cristo, director of Sustainability and World’s Best Middle Americas Zone at Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), in an interview.

With these actions, it is sought to remove more than 78,000 kilos of garbage and more than two tons of PET, which will impact 1.2 million square meters of coastline in Mexico.

The aim of the brewery was to gather more than 15,000 volunteers, however, and add 18,000 people in 69 activities of the programs for restoration and environmental conservation. Those interested in helping can register at www.voluntariosmodelo.com.mx
