Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- On Wednesday and Thursday, the UNESCO International Forum of Creativity and Cultural Tourism for Sustainable Development will begin at the Art Museum so that Mazatlan is considered a Creative City in Gastronomy and included in a gastronomic route worldwide.

At a press conference, on behalf of Secretary of Tourism Óscar Pérez Barros, the Director of Innovation and Quality, María Elena Arias, stressed that gastronomy is one of the great tourist products offered to those who visit us.

For its part, the delegate of the Sinaloa Institute of Culture (ISIC) in the south, Cecilia Sánchez Duarte, said that the event will start at 10:00 am inside the Art Museum.

There will be panels such as the keynote address “Heritage and Cultural Tourism”, given by Jordi Tresserras, from the University of Barcelona, ​​Spain; the “Gastronomía Sinaloense” by Gloria López Morales, of the Conservatory of Mexican Gastronomic Culture, among others of special interest.

Sánchez Duarte expressed that it is sought that this city is located on an international gastronomic route which will strengthen relations in social sectors, something that is already happening to revalue the traditional food of the valley, the mountains, besides being considered as Creative City in Gastronomy and to be in contact with other creative cities that already came to the Conversation that took place here last May.

The participation of national and international specialists in the different sectors of the creative industries, such as music, gastronomy, and literature; experts in cultural tourism and sustainable urban development.

She added that the program will include four-panel discussions and three keynote addresses, with guests from the United Kingdom, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Malta, Colombia, Peru and Croatia in the company of local experts.
