Relaxing and beautiful by nature and attractive for any curious traveler and flower lover. We tell you where there are lavender fields in Mexico and when to visit them, it could be your next stop.

We are very excited about the sunflower sanctuary located in Tabasco, but if you do not have the opportunity to visit it, lavender fields are another option where you can take the best photographs.

Fortunately, lavender fields are not unique to the French countryside, in fact, they are native to North Africa and the Mediterranean and although they are not abundant in our country, we tell you where you can find them.

Mineral de Pozos, Guanajuato

This is a Magical Town located in the state of Guanajuato about three hours away from the center of Mexico City.

To visit the lavender fields, located five minutes from the town, there is a ranch where the floors are wrapped in violet flowers. The aroma of Rancho de la Lavanda floods the landscape that captivates visitors with its six varieties of this useful flower to obtain its essence and produce items with it.

In Mineral de Pozos there is much to do, besides visiting the beautiful lavender field. You can also take a walk in the Jardín Juárez, visit the Parroquia de San Pedro Apóstol, visit the Cinco Señores mine, and if you are fortunate to see a shower of stars.

In Mineral de Pozos you will find some workshops of pre-Hispanic instruments such as La Casa del Venado Azul or Camino de Piedra, where you will surely learn a lot, as well as other types of shops with artistic works, galleries, furniture, clothing, and handicrafts.

You can visit it by contacting one of the operators located in front of the Main Garden at the Tourist Office; Or, you can take the tour on a bicycle with the Mission Bike Tour Operator.

The entrance to Rancho de la Lavanda is free. The tour has an approximate cost of one hundred pesos. Although summer is the best time to visit the countryside, spring is also a good time.

Where? Rancho de Las Barrancas, Pozos-San Luis Road, Guanajuato.

Rancho San Martín , Puebla

Stop imagining walking through a lavender greenhouse. In this ranch in the state of Puebla located an hour and a half from Mexico City, you can do activities related to lavender, learn about its cultivation and its varieties, and you can even adopt a tree or a plant and take a workshop elaboration of soaps.

An ideal space for a walk among its violet flowers and a picnic while you rest to continue the walk.

Where? Federal Highway Mexico-Puebla km 53.75, Santa Rita Tlahuapan, 74150, Puebla.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Hotel La Santísima Trinidad , Guanajuato

It is a boutique hotel from whose windows your guests can see and appreciate the smell of hundreds of lavenders.

The main attraction is not the purple flowers, you will also be in the middle of vineyards and olive groves, which, together with the lavenders, occupy eighty percent of the space of La Santisima Trinidad.

So after a bike ride through the colored fields, visit a cellar to taste the best flavors of the vine in Mexico and take a workshop to make soaps and oils.

Where? San Miguel de Allende road – Dolores (25 km or 15 minutes from San Miguel) Guanajuato.

Schedule:  If you want to have the complete experience, wait for the lavender season in summer.

In general, the best time to visit the lavender fields is in summer, from June to August, so you should wait a bit if you want to be sure to admire them when you arrive at your destination.

Lavender not only has an excellent aroma but also helps as an analgesic, antiviral, antitoxic, antibacterial and as a scar, so you already have an option for your next stop.
