Mazatlan Sinaloa. – Canine therapy allows autistic, blind and physically disabled children to have a better inclusion, said Cristóbal Guerra Larrañaga, coordinator of the disability area of the Mazatlan DIF System.
The canine therapy performed by Enrique Millán with the children is reflected in the children’s home, in schools, and in their community.
Activity
The integrated children spent a day at the beach. They started with a cleaning day in the Olas Altas area.
Then, the children and their parents created castles, figures and animals with sand.
There was time to play at the seashore. In the end they flew kites that they made themselves.
DIF Mazatlán, Municipal Ecology, Canine Therapy, Beach Operator, Parent Network with Children with Disabilities, as well as Strong Women joined this Sunday’s event.
Help
Dog therapy helps improve communication. It has a beneficial effect on the socialization of minors.
This therapy is granted free of charge by Enrique Millán, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., behind the Freeman hotel, in Olas Altas. It is for minors with some type of disability.
Impulse
Guerra Larrañaga stressed that the indication of the president of the DIF, Gabriela Peña Chico, is to work for the total inclusion of children, youth and adults with disabilities. This allows working with all the institutions and foundations of the municipality.
