The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation prohibited couples or family members from checking the cell phone , mail or any private communication, without full authorization, because the fundamental right of the inviolability of private communications is protected .
The ruling was issued by the highest judicial body after analyzing a case in which a man printed 343 emails from his wife, which he presented before a judge to prove the adultery of his partner and thus obtain a divorce and custody of their children.
“To safeguard the right to the inviolability of private communications, it was determined that it is prohibited to record, store, read or register, without the consent of the interlocutors, an external communication,” he said.
The secrecy of private communications must be respected, and under no circumstances can any person, family member or partner review their private communications on any electronic device.
