On Friday, award-winning film director Guillermo del Toro offered to pay plane tickets to South Africa to 12 primary and secondary school children who will participate in the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) in South Africa.

The Model Group announced that it will pay for the accommodation of the 12 primary and secondary students who will participate in the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) in South Africa, after that the Mexican filmmaker Guillermo del Toro offered to pay the flights of the trip to the African country.

Through its Twitter account, the beer company responded to Del Toro’s action and said that it was joining the project paying the hosting expenses of the team of the Mathematics Olympiad in Mexico City.

“Grupo Modelo joins this project and the hosting for the Mexican team in the Mathematical Olympiad in South Africa, is on our own,” he wrote in the social network.

The announcement was made first through the Victoria Beer account, belonging to Grupo Modelo, which later confirmed it by citing the Mexican director’s tweet.

Users of social networks have recognized the action of the company. In addition, the group of the Mathematics Olympiad in Mexico City wrote on Twitter that they are preparing a surprise with the beer group.
