Mazatlan, Sinaloa .- So far this year, 14 billion pesos have been invested and 23 billion pesos are being executed mainly in real estate and tourism developments, said David Torrentera, secretary of Economic Development, Tourism, and Fisheries.

He commented that in a matter of private investment Mazatlan is experiencing an unprecedented stage since it has usually been below Culiacán. Currently, the city is number one in private investment.

He explained that 1,200 hotel rooms are being built, showing a tendency to increase. In addition, there are three hotels interested in settling in the Historic Center and others looking for spaces in the north of the city and the marina.

He added that he is looking for ways to attract new flights, and it shows the six obtained in the Tourist Tianguis from Canada and one to the city of Tijuana with Viva Aerobús.
