Certification of Distinctive H awarded to Star Palace hotel in Mazatlan

Mazatlan, Sin. The Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa handed the certification of the Distinctive H to Star Palace hotel.

The Distinctive H is a certification granted by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health to fixed establishments of food and beverages for complying with the hygiene standards established by the Mexican Standard.

The director of Tourism Innovation and Quality, María Elena Arias Gámez, stressed that the purpose of this program is to reduce the incidence of foodborne diseases in domestic and foreign tourists, as well as to improve the international image of Mexico in terms of prevention and control of foodborne diseases.

He said that the Distinctive is obtained with the advice of a Certified Consultant of the Sectur, which provides training to personnel working in fixed establishments of food and beverages

Executives of the hotel emphasized that, with this program, many benefits are obtained and the challenge is to maintain quality standards in the processes, and better competitiveness.

In this case, 71 people were trained from the following consumer centers: Pelican Restaurant; Employee Dining Room; Palace Pizaa, GIll & Bar Oceana; Peaceful Bar; Suchi Market, and Pacífica restaurant.
