Sinaloa and the USA strengthen ties in favor of tourism development and security

May 13, 2019.- With the firm objective of strengthening ties of cooperation with the United States Government, the Secretary of Tourism Óscar Pérez Barros and the Secretary of Public Safety Lieutenant Colonel Cristóbal Castañeda accompanied the Consul General of the United States in Sonora, Elia E. Tello and the Governor of Sonora Claudia Pavlovich, in the ceremony of laying the First Stone of what will be the new Consulate.

 
After the last meeting of the Tourism Minister in Sinaloa Óscar Pérez Barros with the Presidents of the Hotels Associations of Mazatlán and the Secretary of Public Security, today progress is being made in terms of tourism security.


During the meeting, the issue of ” Travel Warning” imposed by the US Government in Sinaloa was addressed, and a meeting was agreed with Consul Elia Tello for the next few days, to discuss issues related to tourism, economic development and present security strategies of the State of Sinaloa. 


There, Tourism Secretary Pérez Barros reiterated that work is being done in coordination with the different corresponding areas, as instructed by Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel; and there are feasible conditions to achieve the omission of said alert. He highlighted that Sinaloa is currently the 27th state in terms of insecurity in the country. This reflects the good work that has been done in terms of security and strategies to maintain security in the state and specifically in tourist destinations.


Today Sinaloa is positioned among the best states of the republic, is a very dynamic state, in full development, which has the support of the business sector and hotel. 


Once again, Sinaloa establishes bonds of friendship and promotes cooperation between the United States, where they can find many business opportunities and establish very specific plans with business partners.
