Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres said that his government is inclusive and respectful of the demonstrations

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.-  After painting the pedestrian crossing located at the height of the Monument to the Family with the colors of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual (LGBT) community, the Mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres announced that one will be painted plus.

This would be painted close to the gay bar “Pepe El Toro” in the Golden Zone, although it is not yet determined if it will remain painted once the celebration of the World Day Against Homophobia happens next June 6.

“At the crossroads of the ‘Pepe el Toro’ bar, they asked us to paint it for June 6, which is when the LGBT community parade takes place. For now we gave the consent, we will assess whether it goes or is removed, I repeat we are an inclusive government and respectful, “he said.

Benitez Torres reiterated that his government is respectful and inclusive, so this action was taken as a result of a session of Cabildo Abierto, where citizen Vicky Ibarra proposed this.

“Our government is an inclusive government, respectful of all manifestations. In such a way that during the session of Cabildo Abierto there was a citizen proposal so that prior to the Day Against Homophobia, a zebra pass could be painted for this day, and that is why it is there because it was approved unanimously by the Cabildo de Mazatlan, “he concluded.
