The head of the Ministry of Tourism ( Sectur ), Miguel Torruco said that the Pueblo Magico program will continue to be a priority for the dependency in the current administration so that all initiatives and projects developed in this regard will be followed up.

“We are working to find new growth and support options for the Magical Towns, linked with other dependencies and with the private sector,” said Torruco Marqués.

He added that the federal agency works jointly with the government of the state of Hidalgo so that the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos is an event that takes care of its quality and its inclusive meeting profile and access to the public.

Torruco Marqués explained that the conditions of participation in this first Pueblo Magico Tianguis will remain the same, since it will be a completely free event for the 121 Magic Towns, with spaces approved in dimensions and image for all.

“Once again we will invite the private sector related to our program, to participate and support us as business partners; your participation will allow us to reduce the cost of production for our hosts. “

The state of Hidalgo has 673 hotels, totaling 14,252 rooms; of which 49% are from three to five star categories, the SECTUR said in a statement.

According to preliminary estimates, said the agency, last year Hidalgo received the visit of two million 686,000 tourists, the vast majority of national origin, and just for lodging, they recorded an economic income of 1,278 million pesos, with an average occupation of 47.2 percent.
