Sinaloa preparing for 2019 hurricane season

24 hurricanes are forecast for the cycle that begins on May 15

MazatlanSinaloa .- For the hurricane season that begins on May 15 and ends on November 30, 24 hurricanes are forecast in the Mexican Pacific.

The National Hurricane Center ( NHC ) released the approximate number of hurricanes that are forecast in this 2019, although there has not yet been a forecast of what category will be mostly, it is expected to register a pair of great magnitude, reason why they recommend to take precautions and to be prepared before this type of natural phenomena.

They are getting ready for the hurricane season in Sinaloa.

In this regard, the state coordinator of Civil Protection in the southern zone, Oscar Osuna, said that most of the municipalities have already met to install the municipal councils .

There are still some municipalities that permanently install the Municipal Council of Civil Protection, to be pending, ready basically before any phenomenon that could be registered in the Pacific.

He added that the National Water Commission (Conagua) has already made the previous trips in the southern municipalities to verify the conditions in which the canals and streams of the different municipalities are located, who will be issuing some recommendations in writing.

The previous season 18 phenomena were forecast in the Pacific, however three more were presented to reach 21, above the historical average in recent years.
