According to an investigation of Mexicans Against Corruption, the federal government delivered contracts to two ghost companies.

So far in 2019, the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador has delivered five contracts for 16.7 million pesos to ghost companies, according to an investigation by Mexicanos Contra la Corrupción y Impunidad (MCCI).

On February 7, 2019, the IMSS office in Tapachula, Chiapas, extended an invitation to a direct award for the “acquisition of diverse materials”.

Two companies submitted proposals; the winner was Biomedical Interaction and the four contracts that it has received this year should not generate more controversy, except that it is a ghost company.

“Since July 26, 2017, the Tax Administration Service (SAT) had definitively published that Interacción Biomédica SA de CV was a ghost company,” says the research.

According to MCCI, that is not the only case. On January 30, 2019, the Ministry of Communications and Transportation published the call for a tender for the verification of the quality of the construction works of the Federal Highway Network in Sonora.

“The SCT chose the one that ensured” the best conditions available in terms of price, quality, financing, opportunity and other relevant circumstances and signed a contract for 6.6 million pesos, “says the document.

The winning company, Índico RT SA de CV also appeared in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) definitively as a ghost company.
