Mazatlan is continually growing and we all can see that, we can see there are a lot of construction going on, parks, condos, houses, so on and all over the city. Where there is not something new going on is because it is already a nice place to be.
We can talk about historic center where you can have a nice evening with someone, your family, your friends. Nice streets to walk, beautiful buildings, good bars. At day time we can still enjoy that and also have a good meal, relax while your kids play at the playground, walk in a library or a coffee shop. Go to La Machado, sit around just to look people passing by or as said, enjoy the good restaurants and coffee shops around La Machado, look at what small businesses are selling and buy something to remember the day and place.
If you’re in a dancing mood, you can find a nice place in Olas Altas just 2 or 3 blocks away where you can eat and drink and dance. If not, have a walk by the Malecon where lots and lots of people sit around, talk and just having a great time enjoying the new Malecon where we have new illumination, nice palm trees, and new concept.
From Valentino’s to El Monumento al Pescador / Los Monos Bichis (The Fisherman’s Monument) there is a new public bicycle system called “Muévete Chilo Sinaloa” (Ride with Style). It is efficient, healthy, secure, ecologic and not expensive at all. You can find the green bicycles all along the malecon.
Also, there is right now going on a Central Park around the UAS (University), in front of Avenida Bahía, the also new little malecon that is parallel to Avenida Del Mar. In this park there will be a museum, nice green areas and long walks to show you all it’s got.
Have you visited the lighthouse lately or at all? You get to do exercise, walk around with your buddies or you can take your pet, too. Once you’re up there you get a million dollar view, no doubts about that. The best part is that some months ago it was built a super lookout point where you get an even better look, go figure! If you have not been there, take your time to visit it, it is so worth it.
Let me tell you a bit about a nice one that is coming. The Aquarium, I do not know if you are aware of it but Mazatlán will get the best Aquarium of all Latin America.
The project is Acuario Mar de Cortés, the investment is around A thousand four hundred million mexican pesos for construction, maintenance and logistic.
It will be for sure a bigger attraction for domestic and international tourism.
