The plant began to be built in mid-February with an investment cost of 420 million pesos.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa .- More than two months after construction began, the work of the wastewater treatment plant in the Pino Suárez neighborhood was blocked this morning.

Neighbors of the settlement with sticks and foot interrupted the access to the construction, after noting that this will harm them due to the fetid odors that will be generated, as happens with the plant on the side of Cerro del Creston.

Authorities of the town hall and elements of the Municipal Police came to the place, who remained on the lookout for any eventuality that might arise.

The municipal officials withdrew, stating that it was the state authority that would be responsible for addressing the problem.
