The creation of an Ansat-type helicopter maintenance center in the Mexican city of Guadalajara is in an active stage, said Igor Chechikov, the general manager of the holding company for the After Sales Service.
The Mexican company Craft Avia Center, with the support of the holding “Helicópteros de Rusia” (part of the State Rostec Corporation) will open an Ansat helicopter maintenance center in the city of Guadalajara.
“The creation of an Ansat-type helicopter maintenance center in the city of Guadalajara is in an active stage, and the project is implemented by the Craft Avia Center in close cooperation with the Russian helicopter holding,” said Igor Chechikov, the director General of the holding for the After-Sales Service.
The representatives of the holding company held relevant negotiations with Mexican colleagues during the third International Aerospace Exhibition FAMEX-2019, which took place from April 24 to 27 at the Military Air Base of Santa Lucía, near the capital of Mexico.
They assured that thanks to the support of “Russian Helicopters”, the center has been equipped with the necessary equipment and the corresponding documentation. In this place, it is also planned to train Mexican engineers and technicians. “It is estimated that the delivery of the first Ansat helicopter to Mexico for the company Craft Avia Center will be carried out during this same year.”
“We have a successful and long-lasting cooperation in the field of helicopter construction with our Mexican partners: around 50 Russian-made Mi-17 helicopters operate successfully here. Rostec has focused on strengthening cooperation with Mexico and developing long-term relationships with the entire Latin American region, which has resulted in the creation of a technical maintenance center for Russian Ansat helicopters represents a significant step in this direction, “said Victor Kladov, director of International Cooperation and Regional Policy at Rostec.
In 2014 and 2015, the Russian helicopter holding company successfully completed the review of 19 helicopters of the National Ministry of Defense of Mexico. Currently, the holding company provides the after-sales service for the Mi-17 helicopter fleet in Mexico.
