Mexico is considered by companies from China, Israel, and Spain, as the country with the highest potential to invest in solar energy, so they will open offices in Mexico to promote the supply and services for this sector, said Sarah Möller, spokesperson for the Solar Power Mexico fair.
He stressed that the partnership between Deutsche Messe of Germany, SNEC PV Power Expo of China and the US Solar Power International, brought for the first time to Mexico the first fair of the solar industry, and with it the interest of foreign companies that already project their incursion into the country.
He highlighted in a statement that in total, 78 exhibitors gathered at the event, of which 40 were international and the rest national, such as Siemens, Fronius Mexico, Power Electronic, Exel Solar, Solar Trina, SDE Mexico, NEXTracker and BayWa
There was also the Chinese Ginlong, who is already analyzing opening an office in the country to introduce innovations, since the weather conditions in Mexico are optimal for the development of this industry.
For these companies, the generation of distributed solar energy for businesses and residential sector could double this year, up to 700 new megawatts, which will consolidate as one of the fastest growing segments in the national energy market.
Stephen Miner, CEO of Solar Power Trade Shows, said it is important for the Mexican market to have a meeting place like this fair, where industry leaders can share ideas, learn from each other and create a strong community in favor of an industry growing.
According to Jeff Miles, Marketing Manager of Rolls Battery Engineering, participation as an exhibitor was a great opportunity for the company to enter new markets such as Costa Rica, El Salvador and Colombia.
Mexico closed last year with an installed capacity of solar energy of three thousand megawatts, derived from investments of around six thousand 300 million dollars.
Luis Abelardo González Quijano, Head of the Renewable Energy Unit of the Energy Secretariat, who attended the event, highlighted the enormous potential that exists in Mexico for solar energy.
We have to take advantage of all the virtues posed by this type of energy and for this, we must incorporate it into many strategic programs and axes that are delineating in the public policies of the energy sector, he noted.
