The National Institute of Migration (INM) denounced that the new caravan of migrants, coming from Guatemala, arrived around 3:30 this day in Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas. “With an aggressive attitude, they broke the lock that closes the border fence and entered the country,” he said in a statement.

Hours later, another group of migrants entered Mexican territory, at least two thousand people, mainly from Honduras and El Salvador, began their walk around 5:00 am on Friday to the United States .

A group of approximately 350 migrantsviolently broke into the border of Mexico during the early hours of this Friday, denounced the National Institute of Migration (INM).

In a statement, he said that the new caravan of migrants,  from Guatemala, entered around 3:30 this day in Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas.

“With an aggressive attitude, they broke the padlock that closes the border fence and entered the country,” explained the Institute about this group, which was joined by another contingent that was in the place, so they gathered at least 800 foreign people.

A new migrant caravan entered Mexican territory, at least two thousand people, mainly from Honduras and El Salvador, began their walk around 5:00 am this Friday to the United States.

He also stressed that migrants are currently mobilizing along the Ciudad Hidalgo-Tapachula highway and that at noon they were located at the height of the town of Metapa de Dominguez, in the direction of the city of Tapachula.

“In general, their attitude has been hostile , and they even attacked the local Metapa de Dominguez Police,” the unit reiterated.

According to the Cuartoscuro agency, the previous caravans are still stranded in different municipalities of Chiapas, since the migration offices remain closed and their procedures have not been resolved

This new caravan, which according to unofficial figures is made up of at least two thousand people, began its journey last Wednesday, from the city of San Pedro Sula, northern Honduras, and its passage has been joined by Salvadorans and Guatemalans.

The migrants did not wait for the official registration requested by the Mexican immigration authorities.

Since Wednesday afternoon small groups began to arrive in the city of Tecún Umán, making lines for their customs entry into Guatemala without any problem.

The members of the migratory institute in Mexico entered with the corresponding procedures to the first 900 migrants but it is unknown if they will be granted the safe-conduct so that they can move freely through the country to the Northern border with the United States.

Alerted by this situation, it is estimated that the new Central Americans decided to start a trek to Tapachula, one of the most important cities in the southeastern Mexican state of Chiapas, and about 40 kilometers from the border.

Since Wednesday afternoon small groups began to arrive in the city of Tecún Umán, making lines for their customs entry into Guatemala without any problem.

The caravan will spend the night in the vicinity of Tapachula Central Park and then continue on its way to other municipalities on the Chiapas coast on Saturday, where hundreds of elements of the Federal Police and the National Migration Institute are already found.

On the other hand, on Wednesday night, a group of Cubans traveling by bus with documents guaranteeing their stay were detained by members of the National Migration Institute (Inami) in the Huehuetán migrant house, authorities reported.

The migration agents got off the bus where the Cubans were traveling, and they took away their personal documents, such as the passport and the amparo that allowed them to travel freely.

The organization “Todo por Ellos” prevented seven Cubans from being detained and transferred to the Siglo XXI Migration Station for repatriation, while others did not run with the same fate, the NGO explained.

It is estimated that more than 3,000 Cubans are stranded in Tapachula, who have not responded to the request to leave office, after the INM closed the immigration regularization offices for alleged irregularities in the issuance of these documents.

Some 800 Cuban migrants who have been stationed since February in Tapachula agreed this week to depart in the coming days in a kind of “viacrucis” caravan – coinciding with Semana Santa – to cross Mexico and reach the border with the United States.

ANOTHER CARAVAN ARRIVES IN THE MORNING

Later, a new migrant caravan entered Mexican territory, at least two thousand people, mainly from Honduras and El Salvador, began their walk around 5:00 am on Friday to the United States.

According to the Cuartoscuro agency , the previous caravans are still stranded in different municipalities of Chiapas, since the migration offices remain closed and their procedures have not been resolved.

“Only the 700 migrants who are in the makeshift shelter of Mapastepec are about to receive their visa for humanitarian reasons, which would allow them to stay in the country,” he reported.
