7 weapons that the Mexican Government approved for ownership for self-defense

fter the endorsement of the Federal Government so that citizens own weapons in their homes for their defense, The Big Data was given the task of looking for which brands and calibers of guns are authorized to acquire for that purpose.

We found a catalog of the Ministry of National Defense with the weapons that can be bought with them in a legal manner and not violate the law. From which we extracted a list of 7 pistols that we present below:

1.  Glock 9 x 19 

Description:

6. Herstal FNP9

Description:

Description:

Note . According to specialists Armapedia , consulted by The Big Data, more than brands allowed the Mexican citizen has a range of calibers allowed. Exceeding these pre-established calibers the arms become “exclusive of the army and armed forces.

The Government of Mexico endorsed changes in the Constitution that endorses among other things that Mexicans have firearms for their self-defense.

On March 26 of this year, the decree was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF ) to amend, add and repeal various provisions of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States in terms of National Guard.

“The federal law will determine the cases, conditions, requirements and places where the inhabitants can be authorized to carry weapons,” reads article 10.

Weapons prohibited by Federal Law and those reserved for the exclusive use of the 
permanent Armed Forces and reserve bodies cannot be kept in homes.

-Sale of weapons-

The sale of legal weapons is carried out through the Armament and Munitions Commercialization Directorate of La Sedena .

It establishes the requirements for sale to civilians, among which are:

* Photocopy of the Manual of the SMN 
* Work letter, specifying: specifying position, seniority and perceptions. 
* Letter of no criminal record in original. 
* Copy of the proof of address 
* Photocopy of identification with photograph 
* Photocopy of the birth certificate. 
* Photocopy of the Single Registry of Population Registry (CURP).

-Cost- 

Based on the requirements of the Sedena, to obtain a private individual license to carry a firearm, the amount of two thousand 450 pesos must be paid , while the renewal has the same cost.

While an extraordinary permit for the purchase of firearms, cartridges and accessories, 126 pesos must be paid .
