Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The Secretary of Sustainable Development, Carlos Gandarilla García, informed that the public bicycle system will continue operating without mishap in Mazatlan and that, in agreement with the City Council, work is being carried out to implement the second phase of the project in the polygon of linear park.

The state official acknowledged that there was a lag in the times of incorporation of the new polygon, because they are conducting the necessary studies for it, which motivated the Commune to close the system, however after the relevant clarifications it was determined to remove the seals and continue with the stages programmed with the Vbike company and with the municipal government.

The public bicycle of Mazatlan due to the great demand of citizenship and the success of the program will continue without any setback, he said.

It should be remembered that in recent days the Municipal Government announced that it would carry out the revocation of the agreement of the Public Bicycle System that operates since the first of February on the Malecón, due to the fact that the VBike company failed to comply with the installation of a second polygon that it would be located in the Linear Park.

The Public Bicycle System

The creation of the second circuit was scheduled to start on January 27, 2019 and was consolidated on February 20, in the aforementioned area.

The Public Bicycle System would operate there with 50 units in five arrival zones, and could increase the number of vehicles and bicipuertos, this according to a study and evaluations that would be carried out every three months.

However, personnel from SEDESU and Municipal Urban Development were doing surveys in the linear park to incorporate the system in this polygon, which was a request made in February by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez.

Carlos Gandarilla emphasized that the public bicycle system continues with its normal operation in the port of Mazatlan.
