Mazatlan 13th edition of Festival of lights on the Malecón schedule for March 30th

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.-  In what is considered a unique event in Mexico, the Festival de la Luz is back one more year, now in its thirteenth edition.

This morning, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, main organizer and president of the Association of Hotels and Motels Tres Islas, announced that the night the Mazatlan bay will be lit for about 30 minutes, will be the next Saturday, March 30.

He said that the pyrotechnic games, scheduled to go off from 8:00 p.m., will be able to be appreciated from all the Avenida del Mar and to appreciate it better the lights of the malecon will be turned off during that time.

The Festival de la Luz is completely family oriented and free, aims to attract an average of 40 thousand people, many of them from different parts of the country, a hotel occupancy of 70 percent and become a tourist anchor for Mazatlan.

A change of date for the event to last years prior schedule is to accommodate more tourists to Mazatlan in what is usually a low season weekend.

Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres said that this event is to strengthen tourism in Mazatlan.
