Two Mexican cities are the most violent in the world: Citizen Council

Five Mexican cities appear in the top 10 places in the ranking “The 50 most violent cities in the world 2018”.

Tijuana and Acapulco are the most violent cities in the world, according to the ranking “The 50 most violent cities in the world 2018”, prepared by the Citizen Council for Public Safety and Criminal Justice AC

In Tijuana, Baja California, last year there were an average of 138 murders per 100,000 inhabitants. While in Acapulco the rate was 110 homicides.

In third place is the city of Caracas, Venezuela, which at the moment is suffering a deep humanitarian and political crisis. Fourth, Ciudad Victoria is located and fifth is Ciudad Juarez.

In the report , the Mexican cities that appear for the first time among the most violent are: Irapuato and Celaya in Guanajuato; Cancun Quintana Roo; Uruapan, Michoacán; Coatzacoalcos Veracruz and Ensenada, Baja California.

La Paz, Baja California Sur; Mazatlan, Sinaloa and Los Cabos, Baja California were the cities that came out of the ranking due to a drop in homicides.
