Sinaloa.- During his morning conference, Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, he detected a transaction in the purchase of a ranch. According to the comments made by the president of Mexico, it is the Isla Espiritu tourist center, which could be located in the limits of Sinaloa with Nayarit.
López Obrador pointed out that during the government of Felipe Calderón, Fonatur made the purchase of the ranch of a former governor of Sinaloa, which has already died. However, the purchase of the ranch was far from its supposed purpose, which was to invest in attractions tours for Sinaloa.
In addition, the purchase of the ranch that had a cost of 120 million dollars, the President of the Republic, said that investment was also allocated to this land that is currently totally abandoned. For this reason, he will make a query or receive proposals to decide the future of the property.
Critical of the purchase of this ranch noted that if you wanted to invest and promote tourism in Mazatlan, the ideal would be to carry out a project that is located between the city and the airport. Project that could be done if López Obrador gets resources for this “New Mazatlan”.
In short, he said that the ranch was not purchased with the intention of promoting tourism, but with stealing government money as happens elsewhere in Mexico.
