Faced with the elimination of federal resources for the Pueblo Magicos, the Ministry of Tourism ( Sectur ) reported that it will now be the total faculty of the state and municipal governments to finance and financially support the destinations that are included in this program.
In past administrations, for each peso that the federal authority invested in these destinations, the entities and their municipalities disbursed two pesos in total, detailed the Undersecretary of Quality and Regulation, Humberto Hernández Haddad.
It will be faculty that “the governors will decide the budgetary orientation in each entity for their Pueblo Magico”, indicated the official.
Hernandez Haddad commented that the Sectur will support the technical evaluation of the tourism projects that each destination has so that they may be subject to financing from the development bank, as well as carrying out national and international promotion work, in the latter case through the embassies and consulates that the country has.
During the government of Enrique Peña Nieto, the federal administration allocated 500 million pesos annually to this program.
