Neighbors from different neighborhoods and subdivisions recognize that waste removal has improved, but they are still to slow.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The accumulation of garbage continues, but not as much time as it did in the months of January and December, say residents of different residential sectors of the port.

In the subdivision Prados del Sol, Enriqueta Valle, points out that garbage collection has normalized, but the truck goes by so early that sometimes they do not even realize it.

Sometimes it is 7 o’clock in the morning and the car has already passed, and then one does not notice and we leave the trash without knowing, and it lasts two full days until it is finally withdrawn.

José Leopoldo Beltrán, who lives on Avenida de las Américas in the Benito Juarez neighborhood, assures that the truck passes, although he does not have time to do it, so it is common to find bags with rubbish at any time of the day.

He said that being so long the garbage in the public road causes accumulation, which does not stop being used by pepenadores and by dogs or cats, which cause a “sprinkler” of waste.

In the center of the city, along the Belisario Domínguez street, Carmen Peinado, assures that the “garbage removal” has also been “made up”, however, her delay is counterproductive, due to the bad image that it generates for the tourism that transits that area. .

Luis Antonio González, director of Municipal Public Services, mentioned that the problems of garbage collection have gone from more to less, having 40 units that are responsible for removing the waste generated throughout the port.

Daily, he said, are between 700 and 900 tons of waste that is removed by his staff under his charge, which goes to the garbage deposit located south of the municipality.
